Instructions: To use your preliminary planning and investigation of your Assignment 6 topic as a writing assignment, imagine the following scenario for Assignment At work you wish to be assigned the temporary task of investigating the topic approved for Assignment 6. In a 2-3 page (double-spaced) memo, ask permission of your supervisor to give up your regular duties in order to continue to researching this topic and write a report. To obtain his or her permission, you will need to accomplish these objectives in a direct memo:
describe the problem or project you want to work on and explain its significance
summarize research you are already aware of (citing its source within the paragraphs); you should have at least three recent substantial sources
tell where additional information may be obtained (and how much)
describe the benefits of your research to your organization
Use headings and subheadings to make your paper user-friendly. Use the direct order, assuming a receptive audience.

Meets minimum requirements: 2-3 pages, double-spaced; follows instructions; is on approved Assignment 6 topic

You appear well-informed by providing specific details in response to all aspects of the task:
a. specific time and/or dates you want time off to conduct research
b. nature and significance of the project, and your view
c. summary of research already done and any opposing views
d. description of research still to do and where found
e. benefits to organization, persuading them to give you time off to write the report
