Sally was making marinated shish-kabobs to grill for dinner. She made a beautiful marinade and then cut up the raw chicken on a cutting board. She put the chunks of chicken in the marinade and let it sit on the counter for about three hours until it was time to cook.

While the chicken was marinating, Sally prepared the vegetables. She cut them using the same cutting board and knife. She rinsed both the cutting board and knife off with warm water between cutting the chicken and the vegetables. 

Once the chicken had marinated, Sally put the chicken and vegetables on skewers to be grilled. She also started rice in the rice cooker to go with the shish-kabobs. As the shish-kabobs were grilling, Sally put the marinade in a serving dish for extra sauce to put over the rice.

Several hours later, Sally and her family members all developed nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fever, headache, and abdominal pain.

For your final project, you will be researching an individual and their contribution to community and public health. Because of the size of this project, you will be doing the first part of this project in Week 3 then adding the final portion in Week 5. You have the option of writing a paper or putting together a presentation. Details are below the outline. Overall, you will be researching an historical figure in the public health world, their contribution to public health, and how their work helped shape the public health system. Furthermore, you will be analyzing how their contribution from the past continues to contribute to today’s public health system and how it might guide future work within the industry.

Assume you are interested in pursuing a career in the subfield of clinical or counseling psychology. In your post, identify which of the two subfields is of interest to you and use the information you gathered from the American Psychological Association articles to generate seven questions you would ask someone who is currently working in this profession. Question topics may be related to educational requirements, licensure, working conditions, finances, target populations, roles, responsibilities, challenges of the profession, etc.

The current database that your company is using keeps track of all of  the customers and suppliers as well as products offered for sale, but  the current environment has all of this data spread out across multiple  different databases and it is difficult to see a complete picture of the  environment. You have been tasked to consolidate the environment into a  single database environment with the end goal of adding a data  warehouse for the company.

Your manager is excited with the project description, is anxious to  have a new database built for the company, and more excited that at the  end of the project he will also have a data warehouse to help make  strategic decisions. To start, your manager would like to understand the  benefits of following a formal design methodology, especially with  respect to database design. Describe how and why the company can benefit  from spending time planning at the beginning of the project, instead of  just jumping in and developing the applications to meet the perceived  needs. To ensure that you give the best response, you choose to describe  the 3-level ANSI-SPARC architecture and want to make sure you discuss  how the use of this will promote data independence to save time in the  long run.

You also want to take this opportunity to answer any potential  questions about personnel needs with this new database environment.  Describe the roles of a data administrator (DA) and a database  administrator (DBA); describe the job functions of each and how the  tasks they each perform differ. Would you recommend that your company  has one person to perform both tasks, or should it hire two people?
