Grading Rubrics: Content Outline
You have developed your goals and objectives. Now it is time to write your content and
the time allocated to each area. For example, your first insertion may be “Introduction”.
Will you just introduce yourself and provide your background or will you also have the
participants introduce themselves? Are you providing guidelines for them, such as
name, why they are taking your class, something they may want to share with the class,
etc. (Example: If teaching new diabetic patients, you may ask them to introduce
themselves and state how long they have been diagnosed if this is a small group. For
small groups, finding something in common with other members is a good icebreaker.)
How long do you anticipate the Introduction to take?
You will insert the approximate time in the “Time allocated” (example: 5 minutes) and
then in the content area, you will insert your guide regarding what you want to say:
(Example): Instructor Intro, (name, background, education)
Goals: Provide goal of class (see top of teaching plan)
Objectives: Provide objectives (see top of teaching plan)
You will go to the next box, (What do you want to do next in your class after the
introduction) and list the time it will take and your content.
You will not insert word for
word what you will say, but keep in mind enough detail so if someone had to
teach your class if you were ill, they could pick up your teaching plan and be able
to teach the class.
Your class is one hour long.
Do
not
include evaluation methods.
