Be sure to include 3 things in your memo. (1) the job title you’re “applying” for in this assignment and the company where it is–remember that it must be a real job at a real company. (2) The “market research” and (3) the “product research” that Keith Cullen told us about. The “market research” is the skills (job expertise, business knowledge and work characteristics) and the personality traits that a prospective employer would look for in a candidate for the specific job you’ll be “applying” for in this assignment. The “product research” is the list of skills from the market research list that YOU possess. You can make two separate lists in the memo, or, since the market list is likely going to be longer than the product list, you could just make the market research list and indicate with an asterisk or underlining or something like that which are skills and traits that you possess. If you do that, be sure say in the memo what the asteriskk means.
